Tips and Tactics — Assassin's Creed Origins

1.Saving Money

Save your money early. Don't waste it on loot boxes or vendor weapons and gear — you'll come across plenty of gear at the start. Save it for later. Note: you can scan areas for loot.

2.Easy Attacks

To make attacking a camp easier, do it at night so more guards are asleep and it's less of a challenge than during the day.

3.Easy XP

Buy these three skills to increase the XP you earn:

Headshot XP: Extra XP for headshot kills.
Assassination XP: Extra XP for assassinations.
Tool Kill XP: Extra XP for tool kills.

Complete secondary quests (not tied to the main narrative) to gain experience quickly. When selecting a quest you can see how much XP it grants, so you can decide if it's worth it. Extra side quests can also be found at the Informant Table.

4.Easy "I Can See My House From Here!" Achievement

Do this in the "Black Desert" territory, south of Siwa where the game begins. Check the map for a question mark on the tallest mountain and go there; approaching the question mark grants the achievement, and you can see the entire map from this spot.

5.Beginner Tips

On entering a new area, unlock all Fast Travel points — this grants 100 XP and improves Senu's Perception.
When your inventory is full, go to a shop and hold the Down arrow to sell everything at once.
Don't forget to upgrade your weapons at the Blacksmith.
Unlock the Dawn and Dusk ability early: it turns day to night, letting you raid many camps at night.
Unlock both Bow Bearer and Weapon Bearer to swap between two weapons without opening the menu.
When heading to a quest objective, your mount auto-travels there — press X (PS4) / A (Xbox) and relax.
To restore your old look, in the Gear menu hover the main character: RT+Y for beard, LT+Y for hair (R2/L2 on PS).
For something different, head to the massive hippodrome east of Alexandria for Chariot Racing. Draft behind others and stay in the center of the sand to refill your Beast Meter.
Craft great items from the corpses of animals like hippos and crocodiles after hunting them.
Use your eagle to spot convoys in Egypt; killing them yields cedarwood, bronze and other resources. Sell surplus resources at shops.
Break Ptolemy statues for more XP.
Light your arrows on fire and break red pots to spill oil, then ignite it with a torch.
Use the animal taming ability to turn an animal into an ally.
In naval battles, hit an enemy ship's center rather than its bow; while aiming, turn the left stick to find the weak point that turns red.

6.How to Easily Defeat Phylakes

Avoid fighting Phylakes unless you're their level; if eager, engage when no more than 2 levels below.
Start with a stealth attack — early damage is valuable.
Use smoke bombs, but don't spend them all at once.
When the yellow bar is full, activate fury mode to turn normal attacks into heavy damage (only on Blunt weapons, Sickle Swords and Scepters). Use it when the enemy is stunned.
Use an overpower bow attack to fill your adrenaline gauge while staying away from the boss.
When your third health bar is nearly gone, stop attacking and dodge; wait for health to regenerate (get the Regeneration ability).
At low health, keep your distance with the bow, then return to close combat when full.
If the Phylake has allies, use the Dawn and Dusk ability. Use sleep darts to easily kill extra enemies and to stun bosses.

7.Using Fire Arrows

Equip a bow and aim, then get close to a fire source (fireplace, brazier, torch) to light the arrow. With no source available, throw your torch on the floor and light the arrow from it. Shooting a fire arrow into a red jar releases oil that sets the nearby area ablaze — a great way to kill many enemies fast.

8.How to Pet Cats

Press (C) on keyboard or (B) on Xbox controller to crouch, then approach a cat and Bayek automatically reaches out to pet it.
