Tips and secrets for NieR: Automata.

1.Level 4 Blacksmith (Masamune)

In the Forest Castle: Royal Chamber, go right to the exterior broken bridge, drop through the hole, go left and interact with the wall — a hidden block opens. He upgrades Level 3 weapons to Level 4 for 10,000 (sells Machine Sword/Axe/Spear).

2.Extra Weapon Slots ('Pod Hunter')

Collect two extra Assault Pods: 1) From Desert: Center vendor heading to Desert: Camp, a pod in the sand to the northwest. 2) At Flooded City: Coast, fish and reel in as soon as the pod dives.

3.Secret Emil Battle (Level 99)

Complete the 'Lunar Tears' side quest; go to Emil's house near the City Ruins: Center crater (down the sewer pipe by elevator). On a second visit with 9S, hack the chest; as you leave, Emil ambushes you and the secret boss fight starts (high level required).

4.Easy XP (second playthrough)

Buy +3 XP Plug-In Chips from Emil's Shop. At the Amusement Park (Route C/D, 9S), hack the friendly robot in the fountain square, choose 'Remote Control', clear the small enemies, then hack the golden robot statue in the center for a lot of XP. Return to a save point, reload, repeat (needs Level 55+).

5.Secret Achievement Shop

Complete all three playthroughs; talk to the Strange Resistance Woman in the Resistance Camp and select 'Request unlocking you-know-what'. Achievements can be bought (easy 50,000 / medium 100,000 / hard 200,000 G). Tip: back up your save before buying, spend all your money, reload the backup — achievements stay unlocked and your money returns; repeat.

6.Easy Trophies

• Animal Rider: Buy a Sachet (1,000G) and bait (100G); near a moose/boar, select the bait, ride it and travel 5 km.
• What Are You Doing?: Position the camera under 2B's skirt 10 times.
