Tips and Unlockables
Kirin quests, easy money, end-game armor, resource farming and secret costumes.
1.Secret Kirin Quests
Kirin is a rare monster. For the first Kirin quest ("Gone In A Flash"), complete the capture quest chain given by the Biologist NPCs in Astera: capture Kulu-Ya-Ku, Barroth, Paolumu, Odogaron. Then the Impatient Biologist gives the Kirin quest. The end-game "Thunderous Rumble In The Highlands" (tempered Kirin) unlocks at HR49; you can join someone else's game via SOS flare to enter it without being HR49.
2.Easy Money (Might Seeds)
Complete the "Prickly Predicament" 3-star quest → cultivating Might Seeds unlocks. Put a Might Seed in the cultivation slot; it multiplies while you quest. Collect and sell at the shop (140 zenny each). The "Persistent Pests" 4-star quest unlocks a second slot.
3.Bandit Mantle + Plunderblade
- Bandit Mantle ("Redefining The Power Couple" 5-star quest): makes monsters drop sellable rare trade-in items when attacked. If the whole team wears it, you can earn 30,000+ zenny in a few minutes.
- Plunderblade (Rotten Vale, "Into The Bowels Of The Vale"): lets your Palico steal items from monsters when attacking.
4.End-Game Armor (Zorah Magdaros)
Reach HR11 and move to High Rank quests. Join "Left Quite the Impression" via SOS to farm Zorah Magdaros; collect Dragonite Ore and Zorah Carapace from mining outcrops.
5.Secret Costumes
- Ryu costume: with a Street Fighter 5 save file, collect 7 SF5 tickets from the "Down The Dark, Muddy Path" arena quest.
- Horizon Zero Dawn costume: at HR6+, complete the "Lessons Of The Wild" event 3 times (Watcher armor for your Palico).
- Poogie costumes: carry Poogie to specific spots in Astera.
